Well, younger is good because guys die younger than girls, so I'm less like to end up widowed if we move past dating to marriage. But older is supposed to be cool. I suppose I'll go with younger, because I really like who I'm dating now & he's a year and five months my junior.

I buy them, use them once, then lose them.

I used to know the words to the first & most commonly sung verse. I dunno if I still do or not. However, did you know that there are actually at least 4, maybe 5 verses to the whole thing?

Mummy all the way, but then, She went to work when I was 13. If she hadn't, we'd probably always be at each other's neck.

I'll live forever thanks. My physical body might die, but me, the real & most important bit of me, will be around for always.

I was only ever on that little one at the local Exhibition when I was little. They had to stop it to let me off because I was freaking out so badly. Then that other one at Crystal Palace. Once I got over the inital chicken livered fright, I totally screamed. It was great fun. Have to get me on a decent one sometime to see.

Never did go to the prom.

Belief

Dearest My Peeps,

Dude. Dad found a thing online about "Where did the expression 'to knock on wood' come from?" tonight. I totally looked up from my book & answered that people used to knock on the wood to call out the spirits from inside it to protect them. Well, I had it slightly wrong, they knocked on it to wake the Dryad inside the tree to come to their defence. Mum then totally made a snarky remark about how "someone" is apparently fascinated with dryads & the trees & all that in Narnia now, aren't they?

I had simply been answering his question; I wasn't trying to condemn or judge the people who used to believe that. But the way she reacted was like I was all down on them for their beliefs and what could I say anyway?

I wouldn't condemn anyone for their beliefs. Belief is my life. I might let them know that from my stand point they're wrong, but they could do the same back to me. It doesn't matter. I will believe what I believe, & I know I'm right. That's just the way it is. I know I'm right & one day, every human to ever have existed will bow the knee & call Jesus "Lord". But if they don't care to acknowledge Him in life, that's their problem. I might let them know they're wrong, but it's up to them to live their lives how they want to. If I want to be free to believe what I need & want to believe, everybody else needs to be free to believe what they need &/or want to believe. It's just the way of life. If you expect to be treated a certain way, treat others in that way. Common sense.

The difference between Narnia & calling on the Dryads in trees to save me is that I don't actually believe I will ever get to Narnia or that it's a tangible place that can save me. Sure, it's perfectly logical that there are multiple universes, but that doesn't mean we'll ever get to them. I mean, if God can create one universe that's so complex, who are we to say that He can't create multiple ones that coexist side by side? We've only discovered that the earth isn't the center of the universe recently. How do we know that the universe is the center of all creation? Who are we to limit God in such a way?

The difference between the 'mythical' creatures of Narnia & the 'mythical' creatures of Earth is very little. They may or may not exist. They could have been driven to extinction by humanity. Gracious knows that they find new species of creatures on a very regular basis. How do we know that there aren't more that we never knew about? Or that it's been so long since we knew of them that they've passed from history into legend, then from legend into myth?

So what if I choose to believe in faeries, in Santa Claus, in Aslan, in other worlds? People aren't scoffed at for believeing in angels or demons or the spirit realm, but it's not like you can see them either. It's just that they were mentioned in scripture, that's the only difference. The main thing is that I believe in the one True God, the Maker of everything. That I've met & personally know Jesus Christ, the Son of the Most High God, Yahweh, the Alpha & Omega, Beginning & the End, the Everlasting Father.

I don't understand why she doesn't get this. Jesus is my best friend. John 14, verse 6, New Living Translation, "Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." I know that.

Matthew 11, verses 28 through 30, New Living Translation, "Then Jesus said, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you. Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” In context, Jesus has jsut finished praying & was speaking to His disciples. I've taken His burden. It's so much easier than my own, I don't ever want to give it back. But scripture left a lot open to interpretation. Much of it is historical fact. Stories that explain what happened & how & where & such. John 21 verse 25, New Living Translation, "Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written." It doesn't cover it all, there's no way it could ever be big enough to. So we don't know that there aren't faeries or other worlds just around the corner. Who are we to limit God? And by saying they don't exist, we are doing just that.

I daren't limit God. If He can make me, He can do anything. I'm quite a complex physical creature. How does a spider know how to make a web? How can a bird tell just when it'll be warm enough to venture north again? How does a baby know when it's time to be born? How does the oak tree grow from an acorn? Honestly though. If He can do that, He can make 'mythical' creatures too. I use the term 'mythical' with care. Germs used to be 'mythical' & yet they cause more sickness than ever each day. A round planet used to be 'mythical', yet the earth is a globe.

Anyhow, enough ranting from me tonight. Belief is my life, much more simply put. Everything is possible, though admittedly, not all things are probable. Life goes on. I hope you're all doing super! Have a great day!
