An interesting idea.

When you get a moment, write down in a journal EVERYTHING about yourself as far back as you can remember....friends you had or still have, good times you shared, bad times, different places you lived, opinions you used to have, people from different walks of life you have met, special brief moments that for some reason you still remember, who you are today...you get the picture. During those times when you feel like you have done nothing in your life, feel like you have meant nothing and maybe forgot who you are..go back and read what you wrote. You'll find you're quite an interesting person and you may just even learn more about yourself :)

I got taggeded. So here we go!

1.Do you like someone?
I like most people I know. Do I LIKE someone? Nope.

2.Who did you last do to the movies with?
Kathy... no wait, it was Dana this time! Kathy is tomorrow.

3.Are you afraid of growing up?
Afraid? I already AM grown up. o.O Physically at any rate. ;)

4.Is there someone you wished you talked to?
I dunno. Who?

5.How many people are online?
22

6.Are you a simple or complicated person?
Me? I would like to say simple, but it's not half so easy as that.

7.What do you hear right now?
Cars driving on wet pavement, my keyboard as I type, my father putting around in the kitchen, the fan on my computer going... that's it.

8.What is your absolute favourite show?
All time? Family Matters. Current? One Tree Hill.

9.Are you tired?
Actually, I'm pretty good. For now. Until I get into that Bible Study at church that I really want to go to. Then I'll be tired as all get out because I actually want to be able to pay attention. I'm weird like that.

10. Are you excited for school?
It's great to be able to say yes to this. Yes, Yes I am! WOO!

11.When was the last time you watched a full movie?
Uh, .. Wait for it.. Wednesday. Clash of the Titans

13.Would you rather be a priest or a drug dealer?
Drug Dealer all the way. That's just slang for pharmacist isn't it? I'm not a guy, so I couldn't be a priest.

14. What would you like to say to the last person you kissed?
I miss you!

15. When was the last time someone yelled at you?
Uh... uh... probably sometime this week for something beyond my control. Yup. That's it.

16. Have you ever been given an engagement ring?
Ha. Haha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Nope. I'm still planning to die single, just me and 50 cats. Yup, that's it. Let my friends and family have the relationship drama, I'm good by myself.

Within the last 20 minutes. The other one was this morning when I was lonely and doing some mindless none the less necessary task at work that didn't require thinking ability.

22. Last time you showered?
Yesterday morning.

23. Do you miss anyone?
Totally, all the time. *eyeing various friends and family that live away*

24. Do tattoos and piercings excite you?
Not particularly. I want one of the former but am a chicken. And I have four (two per ear) of the second.

25. Have you ever been to NYC?
Not yet.

26. Do you remember song lyrics easily?
Depending on the song.

27. Does religion annoy you?
When I think about what it does to the world, yes, yes it does. I have a relationship with the Maker of all Creation, not religion. Religion can do nothing but damage, kill and destroy apparently.

28. Who do you like?
Coming back to my answer the first time, I don't LIKE anybody. I like too many people to list them all here. I'm generally easy enough to get along with after all, taking certain things into consideration. Mainly, I am happy being me and if a person can't deal with that, well, tough nugget, 'Judge not, lest ye be judged!'

Been A While

I found this on my News Feed in Facebook. I haven't done one for a while and some of the responses I read from the person I found it from made me laugh. :D
~~~
Do you believe your ex thinks about you?
Which one? There are only two that matter and as I see one every few weeks, he has no choice but to think of me. The other is far away, so while I hope so, I don't know.
Tell me about the shirt you're wearing?
Which one? There are two... ;) One is just a white long sleeved tshirt. The other is a v-neck orange and red stripe.
Whats currently bothering you right now?
Nothing I can get into detail about online.
What are you currently hearing?
"Lay It Down" Jennifer Knapp
When were you last outside?
About 20 minutes ago. I went for a walk. The world didn't even end.
Are you afraid of the dark?
Not the dark no. The creepy crawlies it hides? Definitely.
Are you currently frustrated with a boy/girl?
O.o No comment.
What did you last eat?
Lays Ketchup Chips and Philly Herb & Spice Dip. Mmmmm.
Are you gonna get high later?
I am always high. Life does that to me.
Who was the last person to text you?
Fine, hold on while I go find my cell. .... Literally? Empire Theatres. Personally? Douglas.
When is your birthday?
May 25th.
If facebook made you pay would you still use it?
Hahahahaha. Nope.
Have you ever gotten a sunburn so bad it hurt to move?
Most definitely. The question is, have I ever had a sunburn so bad that I had to go to the hospital once a day to get the dressings changed on it. Still definitely yes.
Have you ever driven without a license?
I plead the 5th... even though I am not American.
Do you like your life right now?
It is livable. Is that enough? For today.
Have you ever slept on a couch with someone else?
Sure did. Not well, mind you, but I did.
Is there any emotion you're trying to avoid right now?
I always try to avoid certain emotions. Why subject yourself to torture on purpose?
What is the 11th text in your inbox?
At least I still have my cell turned on. My soul sister. She knows who she is.
Do you sleep with a fan on?
Nope. Music works better.
Reason for throwing up last?
Uh... probably I was sick. I don't do so regularly, so I can't remember.
Do you think your last ex deserves to die?
Nope. In fact, I miss him. Ontario is awfully far away.
Are you anything like you were at this point last year?
I am, but I am not.
Do you miss the way things used to be?
Totally.
Have you held hands with anyone today?
Nope.
Will you be in a relationship this March?
I am in tons of relationships. As I know that is not what you are referring too, nope. There aren't even potentials and it's almost the end of March already. I am happy just me.
Have you ever made out with someone you barley knew?
Uh, no? I will be 27 in just over 2 months and I've still only kissed the one guy. That one who is in Ontario in fact.
Of the people you've kissed, how many do you regret kissing?
Refer to the last question... Not a single one. He was worth it.
Have you ever fallen asleep in someone's arms?
Practically every Sunday night of my childhood.
Are you happy right now?
Tolerably so.
Do you like cuddling?
Of course. Who doesn't? However, similar to a cat, I prefer to not to be touched unless it is on my own terms.
Do you believe in love?
As a concept? Yes. For myself? I hardly know.
Was your last kiss a mistake?
No.
Will your next kiss be a mistake?
If there ever is one, no. I won't do such a thing lightly.
Are you threatened by another girl/boy when it comes to who you like?
Ha. Nope. People have their own brains, they will make up their own minds. What good would being jealous do?
Is there someone in your life you wish you never met?
No. If I had never met them, I would not be who I am.
Who was the last person you shared a blanket with?
Uh... Uh... Mom probably, sitting on the small couch, watching a movie.
Who always knows what your up to?
Jacqui. Kathy. Nobody else.
What is something you disliked about your day?
Today? The dust in my room. Why can't it stay away without me having to remove it!?
Is it easy for someone to make you smile / laugh ?
Almost always. I have a weird sense of humour.
What was the last thing you drank?
Pepsi of course.
Have you had any relationships this year?
Tons. But none of the sort you mean. When did the last one finish? 2008 I believe... though maybe my time perception is off and it was 2009 or 2007.
Does anyone completely understand you?
Actually, despite that Kathy and I are almost identical in every way, no.
Are you smiling?
Sorta.
Do you like the person you are becoming?
More or less. Depending on the day.
Would you date someone who lived in another state?
That would depend on the someone.
When's the last time you said you were fine, but really weren't?
I plead the 5th again.
Is there anyone who doesn't like you?
For sure. There will always be people who don't like me. I like being me so it stands to reason.
Do you laugh a lot?
Totally all the time.
Who do you miss?
I will not list, lest I forget someone and offend them. Way too many people to remember everybody anyway.
Think about it, eh?
I was sent this on Facebook. I am uncertain of it's origins, though it is attributed to Ben Stein. It seems that it might be likely it is from him. No matter who it is from, it is good and I wanted to post it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:
I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejewelled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against.. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina). Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said okay..

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question everything the Bible says. Funny how you can post 'jokes' or send them through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start posting or sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing it or even reading it. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you post or forward this message, you won't send it to very many on your address list or invite many people to read it, because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

If you think this has any merit then spread the word and let people know. If not, then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you do just ignore this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards,
Honestly and respectfully,
Ben Stein

Number 100, Midnight's Children

So I start my list of banned books. Here's to seeing how far I make it through. :D

Number 100: Midnight's Children, Salman Rushdie
The following is quoted from Wikipedia, for those who don't care enough to look it up.

Midnight's Children is a loose allegory for events in India both before and, primarily, after the independence and partition of India, which took place at midnight on 15 August 1947. The protagonist and narrator of the story is Saleem Sinai, a telepath with an extraordinary nose. The novel is divided into three books.

Midnight's Children tells the story of the Sinai family and the earlier events leading up to India's Independence and Partition, connecting the two lines both literally and allegorically. The central protagonist, Saleem Sinai, is born at the exact moment that India becomes independent. He later discovers that all children born in India between 12 AM and 1 AM on 15 August 1947, are imbued with special powers. Saleem thus attempts to use these powers to convene the eponymous children. The convention, or Midnight Children's Conference, is in many ways reflective of the issues India faced in its early statehood concerning the cultural, linguistic, religious, and political differences faced by such a vastly diverse nation. Saleem acts as a telepathic conduit, bringing hundreds of geographically disparate children into contact while also attempting to discover the meaning of their gifts. In particular, those children born closest to the stroke of midnight wield more powerful gifts than the others. Shiva of the Knees and Parvati, called "Parvati-the-witch," are two of these children with notable gifts and roles in Saleem's story.

Meanwhile, Saleem must also contend with his personal trajectory. His family is active in this, as they begin a number of migrations and endure the numerous wars which plague the subcontinent. During this period he also suffers amnesia until he enters a quasi-mythological exile in the jungle of Sundarban, where he is re-endowed with his memory. In doing so, he reconnects with his childhood friends. Saleem later becomes involved with the Indira Gandhi-proclaimed Emergency and her son Sanjay's "cleansing" of the Jama Masjid slum. For a time Saleem is held as a political prisoner; these passages contain scathing criticisms of Indira Gandhi's overreach during the Emergency as well as what Rushdie seems to see as a personal lust for power bordering on godhood. The Emergency signals the end of the potency of the Midnight Children, and there is little left for Saleem to do but pick up the few pieces of his life he may still find and write the chronicle that encompasses both his personal history and that of his still-young nation; a chronicle written for his son, who, like his father, is both chained and supernaturally endowed by history.

Top 100 Banned Books of All Time

My first goal is to read through the books on this list. I have some under my belt already, but I will start with number 100 and work my way up the list, book by book, already read or not. Why on earth would anybody bother banning books? Ideas, words, precious sweet taste of life. I'm surprised that the Bible did not make it on the list, all things considered. But that's fine. I read that semi-regularly as it is.

The list! The Notorious list of bandits! My first conquest, Number 100, Midnight's Children , Salman Rushdie. Can anybody tell me why Winnie the Pooh made the list though? That one confuses me. And Charlotte's Web! WHY?! I felt my brain start to die a little when I saw those two. o.O OI!

Interesting Concept

Well, I am aware that I am not a Walmart employee. I am also aware that I really have no desire to be. I like the job I have now. But this is still an interesting article. I would also strongly recommend checking out the main site as well, as it is also quite the interesting read. Hmmm. Well, I guess I had better get as much use out of my new car's tires before they are illegal.

Your ex is on the side of the road, on fire. What do you do?-
Throw a Bucket of water over his head. I miss him and would want the opportunity to talk.

Who came over last?-
To my place?? Kathy.

Dragon Ball Evolution. And as I was not a fan of the show, it was not a bad movie.

Name a lyric from the song your listening to right now-
Redemption is waiting at your doorstep
He is begging you to let him in now
You can put all of it off again
But where's it gonna get you in the end?

The time is now so maybe you should think things out,
Yea, take some time and think about it now.

This is the only chance to do something about it (something about it)
And don't you put it off (cause you can't live without it)

Cause the time is now

And take your life back with a vengeance
For the first time you cannot have true love

Promise me you'll never sleep again
Cause until you find the answers there's no rest.
To put to death the life you've lived in doubt
I'll show you all the things you've heard about

You are on the verge
Let go
Go on staring at the light

If you let go and just believe
You won't make a liar out of me
Come try and show me what you see
What I have is what you need

What are you looking forward to?-
The end of the Saga.
