Abortion & stuffs.

Dearest My Peeps,
I just responded to a message on a friend's facebook. It was about abortion. It got me thinking about it again. I can't see how anybody should have the privilege to kill an innocent child who cannot defend themselves, yet at the same time, why should they be forced through with a bad pregnancy?
I know I personally could never get an abortion, but that's me. I can't live anybody else's life for them, how can I try to tell them how to live? Here, I'll copy & paste my note from Facebook.

"I totally don't know if I'm pro-life or pro-choice. To be honest, I'm a mix of both. What catches me hardest is in the States. Under Bush Sr. & the president before him, the "pro-life" presidents, the abortion rates skyrocketed. But when Clinton was in power, the "pro-choice" president, the abortion rate plummeted. The problem with most pro-life people is that they don't care beyond getting the child born. Once the fetus is born, they stop caring about it & leave it alone. That's not the point at all. Pro-choice is about having the choice to have the baby or not. And a lot of people choose not to have the child simply because they know they cannot look after a child the way a child needs & deserves. If they honestly had a choice, a lot more women wouldn't bother with abortions.
But they don't have a choice. It's either have the baby & watch your child grow up in poverty & ruin or have an abortion & be almost certain that the child is better off than in the cirumstances into which it would be born & raised through. So I'm torn on the whole issue. I can't see how anybody should have the right to murder somebody that can't defend themselves. But at the same time, it should be the woman's choice what to do & how to do it. Personally, I'd much rather have the clinics availble. At least that way you know the abortion will be safe & that the woman will come through it almost in one piece. Because abortions will happen one way or the other & it has to be better to have them done in a safe & clean environment. Not that I'd ever be able to go through with it myself. I feel guilty when I spray a spider with Raid, let alone taking the life of my own child. But those who feel they need to, for whatever reason, should be able to."

And next I've put a link to an article that describes my feelings on the matter quite throughly. My brother sent it through to me ages ago & I was very impressed with how it stated it all.

Other than that, not much is going on. It just got me thinking about the whole thing again. I don't want abortions to be illegal. That's one of the stupidest moves the government could make. They need to make it so that abortions aren't so many people's ONLY option. *flailing* Honestly!

Cheers to you! Cake & cookies too!
God bless!

"To be pro-life means also to work to eradicate poverty, to provide universal health care, to provide affordable housing, to be consistent on war and peace." -Tom Allio, quoted from that article

Hey I linked to your blog from Pat's-I'm the Cricket guy. I was interested in your blog about the whole abortion thing and must say I share your views.

What I really wanted to say concerns the previous post about the UK/Ireland. I'm a travel nut, but also 20 something and otherwise broke. My girlfriend and I are headed over there though in October, $189 bucks roundtrip. You can book this through a company called Bel Air trave and it's six months no payments-they actually operate through Sears travel so it's not a scam. Who knows maybe you and Pat could take off for an overseas vacation?

Cheers
